AceStream Common Problems: No Peers, Black Screen, No Sound and Fixes
The field list in fix order: dead links, stuck metadata, black screens, silent MKVs, invisible TVs and the cache reset that ends most mysteries.

CONTENTS On this page
Most sessions with this client just work, which is why the minority that do not generate such folklore. This is the field list our support mail actually produces, in the order the testing behind AceStream APK fixes them.
Problem: stuck at zero peers
Read the link first: re-copy it completely rather than trusting a paste from a chat that may have trimmed characters. Then give a live broadcast a full minute and a torrent longer. Then test a stream you know is healthy on the same network. If the known stream works, the first swarm is empty and no setting fixes an empty room. If nothing works anywhere, suspect the network, especially restrictive Wi-Fi that blocks peer connections.
Problem: metadata never arrives
A magnet link that cannot fetch its metadata is a swarm with almost nobody home, or a network quietly interfering with discovery. The torrent-file route avoids this step entirely, one of the practical differences in our format comparison. Try the file if your source offers one, and try the link again later; quiet swarms wake up when their owners return.
Problem: picture, but no sound
Check the player's audio track selection first; multi-track files open on the wrong track more often than pride admits. Then suspect AC3: an MKV whose audio your current output cannot decode, especially when casting. Leave stream output on auto so the engine transcodes for the target, the behaviour detailed in our formats guide.
Problem: black screen with sound
Sound without picture points at the video path: an exotic codec in an old file, a cast target that rejects the video while accepting audio, or a player surface that needs a restart. Test the same stream on the phone screen. If it plays there, the cast leg or the TV is the story. If it fails there too, restart the app, clear the cache from the menu, and test a known-good file to separate content problems from client problems.
Problem: the TV never appears
Same network, character by character, both devices. Restart the receiving app. Check the router for client isolation, the guest-network habit of keeping devices apart. Work that order before any reinstall; in our mail, the network confesses by step two almost every time.
The reset that ends most mysteries
Clear Cache, then Restart app, both in the app's own menu. It costs a minute, loses nothing, and closes a remarkable share of "used to work" cases across every category above. Keep it as the last step before deeper surgery, and the client stays the boring, reliable tool it is meant to be.
Keep this list where you can find it at the moment of annoyance, because that is when fix order matters most. AceStream fails in a small number of well-understood ways. Ace Stream rewards the user who reads the swarm before reaching for the reinstall. Work the order, trust the known-good test, and AceStream for Android problems shrink from folklore into a checklist you finish before the kettle boils.
Quick Answers
Why did a stream that worked yesterday fail today?
Swarms change daily. A broadcast ends, seeders leave, a quiet torrent sleeps. Test a known-good stream to separate swarm problems from app problems.
Will reinstalling fix most problems?
Rarely, and it costs your settings. Cache clear and app restart sit earlier in every fix order on this page for a reason.
The app opens but every link fails. What now?
That pattern is network-level: try a different connection entirely. If streams work there, your first network is blocking peer traffic.
